Agriculture & Gardening Fair

On the last Sunday in August, join us at our annual Agriculture and Gardening Fair! Visit yards in a walkable area of East Avondale, where you’ll find demos and activities specifically tailored to urban living. Learn about topics like seed saving, attracting birds and pollinators to your yard, home-brewing, crafting and making art with natural materials, fermenting, beekeeping, and more. Then, join the after-party (and raffle!!) at Chief O’Neill’s! Goodies available include flower crowns, home-brewed samples, plants, sprouting supplies, swag, and lots of raffle prizes! 

Want to help bring this event to life? We are still looking for volunteers and demonstrators to help with AGAF 2026! Let us know you're interested by filling out this form! There are so many different ways to get involved:

• If you live in within the boundaries of N Kedzie (West boundary) and N Rockwell (East boundary), and between Roscoe (North boundary) and the Kennedy/Diversey (South boundary), let us know if you’d be willing to host a fair stop.

• No matter where you live, let us know if you’d like to participate by demonstrating a skill to your neighbors, helping coordinate the raffle, sharing your favorite garden recipe, introducing us to new ways to use our plants, helping promote the event, curate a host site, or supporting the AGAF in another way.

• Lend a hand with event support or even at the after-party!
